meet aimee

I actually became a beauty fanatic as a baby. There is a story my grandmother would tell about me pulling an entire bottle of Guerlain Shalimar perfume off the dresser and trying to get it into my crib. I am the daughter, granddaughter, and niece of women who woke up at 5am to apply makeup, lashes, and style their hair. I actually started working in the beauty industry when I was 16, on the cosmetic floor of the iconic Lord & Taylor (RIP) department store in Midtown Manhattan - the youngest person in the store all together. I’m probably the only person ever to cut school to attend one of the store’s beauty breakfasts!

I tried to make myself into something different, something very academic by attending Bard College, and working at New York City’s iconic Museum of Modern Art upon graduation. The art world lost me after a single year but beauty found me again, and I should have known that it was where I belong. I soon found myself sitting behind a desk in Clinique’s advertising department, helping with their iconic Irving Penn ads. From there I was recruited to work in Estee Lauder’s PR department. I later went on to L’Oreal USA and LVMH and accumulated not only an iconic roster of brands on my resume, but amazing amounts of knowledge from the best in the business. And BTW, I worked with La Mer in those early days - imagine being in your 20s and having unlimited access to La Mer - I did!

If you have something in your cosmetic bag or bathroom, there’s a very good chance that I helped put it there.

My career has mostly been in public relations working with the world’s most iconic brands - both big and small. My clients trust me, and they have wanted me to do many more things for them. So in the past 25 years I have been a PR person but I have also created fragrances and entire branding concepts for candle brands, consulted on the correct ingredient mix for a new sunscreen, helped source and design packaging, and written A TON of copy.

I have been told that my knowledge of ingredients is second only to a chemist. I know what buyers want to see, what beauty editors love, what stands out to customers. When it comes to beauty, there is virtually nothing I can’t help you with from initial brand development to getting your brand out into the world.
